Ashi Patel

Ashi Patel is a solicitor in the Company/Commercial team of Carter Lemon Camerons and specialises in advising on commercial transactions particularly for SMEs in relation to commercial contracts/terms of business, and sales/purchases of businesses and properties. He has the experience and expertise to deal with all aspects of commercial property transactions ranging from acquisitions, development, letting & sales and property financing.

Ashi has a particular interest in development, representing a number of property developers and advising on all stages of the construction and development of real property including site acquisitions, development agreements, preparing leases and sales packs for new properties and for sale of off-plan properties. 

Ashi also works with investors and individuals based in the UK and abroad in all aspects of residential property work including acting for buyers and sellers in both leasehold and freehold conveyancing as well as dealing with transactions involving re-mortgages, auction purchases & sales, Councils right to buy schemes & share-ownership Leases, transfer of equity transactions, off-plan and new build property purchases and sales.

Career highlights include:

• Advising a property development company on its multi-million pound share acquisition of a target company primarily to facilitate the acquisition of land owned by the target company for development purposes. The transaction involved complex financial issues which entailed carrying out the financial assistance white-wash procedure, which has since been repealed. Ashi also had to advise the client on the debentures, guarantee agreements and legal charges which were required by the clients lender.
• Acting for the directors of a UK printing company to sell half of its issued share capital to an individual resident in the US. Working as part of a team, Ashi was primarily responsible for preparing the disclosure letter and documents, limiting the warranty liabilities in the SPA and preparing the completion company minutes.
• Working on the sale of two high net worth apartments in central London on behalf of a Chelsea FC footballer
 
Ashi was admitted to the Roll of Solicitors in 2001 and joined Metson Cross in 2004. Outside the office Ashi devotes his time to his two year old son and spends his spare time supporting Liverpool FC attending games both at home and abroad. Ashi is keen to learn to golf and eager to find time to take level 1 FA coaching badges.
