Rufus qualified as a solicitor in 1988 and has, throughout his career, worked in City of London firms on commercial property matters. During that time, his experience has been very varied and dynamic. He qualified in a small "general practice" firm, spent over 5 years in the large property department of Titmus Sainer & Webb, during which time he became a co-author of the Landlord and Tenant Fact Book, and subsequently headed the English property department of the English associated firm of a top 10 Scottish firm before settling down by joining Carter Lemon Camerons as a partner in its largest (and historically strongest) department. He has been a regular speaker and chairman at national conferences, and is recognised for his expertise in landlord and tenant matters with a particular penchant for rent reviews and the implementation of Part II of the Landlord and Tenant Act 1954. |
