Intro
Carter Lemon Camerons has a depth and breadth of experience in supporting charities and their Trustees. Understanding that trustees are volunteers, but have increasingly heavy responsibilities is something we factor into our advice.
We give practical expert advice in the creation of charities and their subsequent management, appointment of executive teams, and corporate governance issues. Helping trustees manage risks as the charity grows and innovates is our task. We also support those who encounter difficulties, finding solutions and successful outcomes. We work with the Charity Commission to obtain orders and schemes to keep charities relevant and active for their beneficiaries as they pursue their objectives.

Recent Transactions
- Transferring the assets of an unincorporated charity to an incorporated charity, including advising on the constitutional documents, setting up a company and registering it with the Charity Commission, transferring the assets and dissolving the unincorporated charity.
- Advising a high profile charity on the development of a mixed community use and short-term residential property by a house builder pursuant to a section 106 agreement, including agreeing terms of construction and transfer of title and rectification of snagging.
- Supporting a charity in re-organising its procedures, strengthening its governance, and the formation and implementation of its strategy.
- Merging over thirty healthcare charities into three charities under an umbrella charity, and incorporating the charity trustee body, including agreeing the Scheme and Order with the Charity Commission and updating titles.
