You can apply for a Tier 4 (General) student visa to study in the UK if you have an unconditional offer from a licensed Tier 4 sponsor and meet the following requirements:

  • You must demonstrate sufficient funds to support yourself and cover your course fees, as specified by Home Office guidelines.
  • You must possess the ability to speak, read, write, and understand English at the required level.
  • You can enrol in various courses, including full-time studies leading to a Level 6 qualification or higher, part-time courses at Level 7 or above, overseas degree equivalents, or full-time courses with at least 15 hours of organised daytime study.

You can obtain a Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) from your Tier 4 sponsor if the course meets specific Home Office requirements, including those related to the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF) and the Scottish Credit and Qualifications Framework (SCQF).

If you have previously studied in the UK, you may receive a CAS for resitting exams, transferring to a new institution, or continuing your studies, provided you meet the necessary criteria.
