Andrew Firman is a partner in our corporate & commercial team. His employment practice covers both contentious and non-contentious work for both employers and employees. His corporate and banking practice concentrates on contractual and advice work given mainly to SMEs and charities.

- running a David v Goliath style battle for a former employee of a US based bank related to the late vesting of share options following that employee’s termination at a time when the US markets were in freefall
- negotiating, finalising and drawing down for an off-shore SPV borrower a £310M facility to buy a group of companies which owned, as an investment, the London HQ of a multinational corporation

- the prepack purchase from administrators of a call centre business
- rescheduling of supplier debt for a company designing and selling innovative communications technology including smart metering to the electricity industry
- advising churches on terms of settlement for departing ministers

Andrew grew up in Nailsea in the West Country and after a gap year working as a Careforce volunteer doing youth work in a church in South West London, went on to study law at Manchester University followed by a masters degree at Leicester University. He was admitted as a solicitor in 1995 having trained and qualified at the Camerons end of the firm.As well as being a member of the Law Society, Andrew is a member of the Employment Lawyers Association and the Charity Law Association.
Outside the office Andrew combines being a trustee of a youth healthcare charity (Redthread) and chair of governors of a local primary school with life at home with his wife, a local GP and three young children, committed membership of his local church and occasionally indulging himself in snooker or running.
