Kate Boguslawska takes part in British-Polish Construction Forum

Carter Lemon Camerons LLP Partner, Kate Boguslawska, took part in the British-Polish Construction Forum at the end of May.

The event was organised by PBLink, of which Carter Lemon Camerons LLP is a partner firm, and attracted more than 100 business owners, including architects, interior designers, developers, contractors, sub-contractors and consultants.

The event was opened by the Polish Ambassador to the United Kingdom, Arkady Rzegocki.

Kate Boguslawska led a workshop on getting paid in the construction sector, at which she set out the alternatives for when a project goes wrong and covered the most common reasons why construction disputes arise, as well as how to avoid them.

Kate said: “Late payments and payments that never materialise are one of the biggest risks facing businesses working in the construction sector. This was brought into sharp relief following the collapse of Carillion last year.

“The business owners who took part in the forum were understandably keen to engage on the topic and I am pleased to have been able to help them think about the steps they can take to increase their chance of receiving payments on time and in full.”
