The Innovator visa is designed for experienced businesspeople looking to establish a business in the UK. Applicants must present an innovative, viable, and scalable business idea endorsed by an approved organisation.

Key features:

  • Initial Visa Duration: 3 years
  • Path to Settlement: Requires 3 years of continuous residence in the UK.

Eligibility criteria:

General Requirements:

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • B2 English language proficiency is required.
  • Pass the credibility assessment.
  • Maintain funds of £945 unless endorsed by an approved body.

Specific Requirements:

  • Must secure an endorsement from an approved body.
  • Must have a minimum investment of £50,000.

The Home Office will evaluate the applicant’s genuine intent to undertake business in the UK, the authenticity of claimed funds, and any relevant endorsements.

In order to be eligible for Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR) 3 years of continuous residence under the Innovator visa.

Applicants on certain visa categories can switch to the Innovator visa from within the UK.
